At our annual meeting in May of 2009 it was decided by the board, officers and members present the club would have a "Silent Year." This means we will not sponsor any races during this upcoming season. It was a sad decision that came on the heels of a fun season that was topped off by the new very popular race that honored our senior sled dogs! The club will however participate in or host educational events related to dog athletics or dog care. The decision was made based on a fundamental lack of resources. The club needs member participation in more than just race attendance - there were no members willing to take the helm and fill the officer positions. The club has money to groom the trail for recreational use this upcoming season but beyond that the future is unclear.
We are accepting volunteers to help groom, apply for a trail grant and help at educational events. Anyone interested in helping contact may psdra-mail@psdra.org
